Saia joined HCA’s Resident Services Dept in July of 2022. She is a mother of three artsy daughters, Miranda, Rebekah and Lily Rose. When not tending to her three lovely ladies, Saia enjoys dancing, music, art, fun days at the beach, and throwing fabulous dinner parties with friends and family here in her hometown of Los Angeles. Always one for a good laugh, she often finds that humor truly is the best medicine!
Saia began her first job at the age of 14 with The Hollywood Arts Council (HAC). Her love of art grew and she remained a volunteer for HAC for decades after, claiming that “Art has changed her life.” Because of this love, Saia began curating and held her inaugural art show in 2014 at the Think Tank gallery in DTLA. She went on to become the Art Director at the Exchange Room Gallery, organizing and exhibiting 50+ artists.
Art has been a main passion for Saia, but what she cares about most is people. She worked at the Hollywood 55+ community, Bethany Towers, where she assisted residents with activities such as shopping, trips, and events, and published a monthly newsletter highlighting resident stories. Saia has also worked as a medical assistant at UCLA’s Revlon Breast Center, and most recently in the homeless services nonprofit sector, conducting outreach and providing services to some of the most vulnerable in her community. Saia and her girls organize yearly holiday outreach and serve cookies and treats to those living outside on Christmas eve.
Saia believes that taking care of each other, and treating others with mutual respect regardless of ethnicity, gender, political or religious beliefs, is the only sustainable path. She looks forward to working more closely with HCA residents through online and in-person classes and activities.
