HCA Live is brought to you by Housing Corporation of America. We are a 501(c)3 affordable housing nonprofit that strives to build better communities across Southern California and beyond. One of the ways that we do that is by providing free educational programs to residents living at the communities we work with. These programs are part of what we call, “resident services.”
For most of our existence—more than 30 years!—our talented resident services team taught classes in the arts, music, languages, STEM, wellness, and much more in-person and on-site at HCA apartment communities. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020, we had to test our own creativity and find ways to connect from a distance. Enter HCA Live…
HCA Live is the online nexus of our resident services in this new world of quarantine and social distancing. Through this re-envisioning of resident services, we can offer classes and support in all the ways that we used to, except that now we have swapped out touch for technology. All you need is a device with Internet (and if you don’t have that, get in contact with us so we can help!).
We are thinking big, but starting small, because we know this is a big shift for many of you—and for us too. So for right now, we are offering our classes at a select number of HCA communities that we call HCA Live Communities.
